The use of a pure phase-change refrigerant, as described in article [BE 8 095] (§ 1.2.3 and [4]), remains limited to the temperature interval between the fluid's critical point temperature, at which the latent heat of transformation is cancelled out, and its triple point temperature, below which simple mechanical cycling disappears.
