4. Construction, installation, commissioning and operation
As already mentioned, the most common configuration for high-capacity chillers is the natural draft cooling tower. These coolers are characterized above all by their hyperboloid reinforced-concrete chimneys, which can reach heights of over 160 m. Without going into too much detail, this section first describes the construction principle behind this very special concrete structure.
