4. Potential process applications
The main advantage of the hydrolysis reaction is that it enables hydrogen to be produced autonomously and on demand. This technology can be used to power a system independent of the electricity grid, such as a generator in a remote location, or for mobility applications. In this context, hydrogen needs to be produced on demand. This requires a complete system comprising a hydrogen generator, a fuel cell, control electronics and an electrical load (figure
