Mixture essentially consisting of methane (CH

) and carbon dioxide (CO

) produced by the biochemical decomposition of organic materials in an environment containing little or no oxygen.
Electrode; Electrode
Electrical or ionic conductor capable of capturing or releasing electrons. A distinction is made between anode and cathode. In chemistry, the anode is the electrode where an electrochemical oxidation reaction takes place. In contrast, the cathode is the electrode where an electrochemical reduction reaction takes place.
