1. From the perfect gas model to equations of state for real fluids

An equation of state is a mathematical expression used to describe different states of matter (liquid and vapor), by linking different thermodynamic variables. The equation of state for a pure body thus links the following three variables: temperature T, pressure P and molar volume v. An exact mathematical relationship linking these three variables is :
