Protection Plan for Medium Voltage Public Distribution Networks

Primary substations are defined as extra-high or high voltage/medium voltage (HV/MV) substations, also known as source substations in France, and secondary substations as medium voltage/low voltage MV/LV substations.

In this text, the "medium-voltage public distribution network" includes, from the point of view of the MV protection plan :

• (T)HV/MV transformers and MV equipment on primary substations ;

• MV cables and lines;

• secondary substations to supply industrial or residential customers.
