3. LV network protection plan
As with medium-voltage networks, the protection plan is a compromise between the objectives of sensitivity, speed and reliability. In addition to ensuring correct operation under normal conditions, it must ensure the safety of people and property, eliminate only the faulty part and ensure continuity of service for the part upstream of the protection device. Unlike MV protection, LV protection plans generally include overload protection. This is because there are few sensors on LV networks to inform the operator.
Protection plans depend on regulations, network technology and the neutral system.
