Electronic devices are primarily responsible for harmonic pollution, but other loads on the network can also contribute.
2.1 Voltage emission
Synchronous machines and saturated transformers are sources of harmonic voltages. The harmonic levels produced by these sources always remain below one percent. Some equipment designed to compensate for voltage dips (uninterruptible power supplies – ASI – of rudimentary design) also produce voltage harmonics on their downstream network.
