Numerous wood deposits are available and can be used to produce fuels after a more or less extensive conditioning phase:
forestry operations (logging, skidding, pruning, etc.);
Primary wood processing (sawmills, panels, etc.);
secondary wood processing (joinery, furniture, construction);
the packaging industry: pallets, crates... ;
demolition and renovation companies;
landfills and waste disposal sites.
Of these sources, the first four can easily supply fuel, while the last two most often supply waste that cannot be burned...
