Electricity-to-gas conversion; Power-to-Gas
Converting electricity into synthetic gas – Power-to-Gas – involves using decarbonized electricity (nuclear or renewable) to produce dihydrogen by electrolysis of water, which can then be converted into synthetic methane.
Electrolyser; electrolyzer
An electrolyzer breaks down a water molecule using electricity. The reactions involved in an electrolyzer are oxidation-reduction reactions. The dihydrogen produced can then be used in a fuel cell, an electricity generator that converts chemical energy into electrical energy.
Cavités salines; salt caverns
Underground geological formations used to store large quantities of hydrogen.
European Green Deal taxonomy
