Fundamental physical constants

The International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) adopted a first set of fundamental constants based on the critical analysis carried out by E.R. Cohen and J.W.M. DuMond [1] in 1963.

In 1969, B.N. Taylor, W.H. Parker and D.N. Langenberg [2] took up Cohen and DuMond's analysis and presented an improved set of values.

Work continued in a group on fundamental physical constants at CODATA (Committee on data for science and technology), part of the International Council of Scientific Unions.
