PDCA applied to chemical risk assessment: how to manage your action plan (Act stage)?
Using the results of an HSE chemical risk assessment

During monitoring sessions, indicators are reviewed to ensure that the action plan is being implemented according to schedule. In the event of deviations, an analysis must be carried out (e.g., the five whys? method, or the QQOQCCP? method) to understand the reasons and define new actions to correct the deviations (e.g., making more resources available, rescheduling, refocusing or abandoning the action, etc.).

Similarly, if the measurement of the action's effectiveness shows inconclusive results, an analysis will also have to be carried out, leading to a new planning of actions to achieve the desired effectiveness. These new actions will thus be the subject of a PDCA.
