Biodiversity developed on the prototypes, validating the overall functioning of the biodiverse walls. The majority of seedlings germinated in phase 1, then a large proportion of species maintained themselves for a year, particularly during the eight-month watering-free phases. Part of the introduced plant community adapted particularly well to the wall's maintenance-free conditions. The plants that remained throughout the experiment were wall specialists such as red centranthe, wall cymbalaria, wallflower and Robert's apple cranesbill, or pioneer wasteland plants such as greater chelidonia.
