5. Changes in calco-carbonic characteristics
These are treatments that affect all or some of the following parameters: pH, TA, TAC, TH, TCa, TMg, free CO2; the main ones are:
neutralization of aggressive CO2 (to combat corrosion in distribution networks and certain circuits);
softening treatments (total or partial TH elimination) and/or decarbonation (TAC elimination);
remineralization of water whose TAC and/or TH levels are too low for the desired objective.
In some cases, when you don't want to increase the salinity of the water (particularly after decarbonation on carboxylic resin), this is achieved by physically removing the aggressive CO2 in an open aeration system
