"Management at the highest level must define the organization's environmental policy and ensure, within the defined scope of its environmental management system, that its environmental policy :

a) is appropriate to the nature, size and environmental impact of its activities, products and services;

b) includes a commitment to continuous improvement and pollution prevention;
