It consists in determining the most suitable overall treatment scheme for a plant's waste effluent, by carrying out a technico-economic comparison of the various possible solutions for treating the waste water and sludge resulting from the treatment process, taking into account :

• their purification performance;

• investment and operating costs;

• environmental constraints.

It's important to remember that the heterogeneous composition of industrial effluents containing both mineral and organic pollutants, which are generally present in all three forms: soluble, colloidal and suspended, always leads to the design of a treatment chain that must be sufficiently flexible to allow for subsequent adjustments to take into account the rapid evolution...
