7. Conclusion – Outlook
In the case of industrial gaseous emissions loaded with volatile organic compounds, it is often necessary to carry out a qualitative and quantitative assessment of the discharge before designing and implementing a treatment process. Indeed, the choice of process often depends on the nature of the VOCs, the flow rates and concentrations or, to put it another way, the mass flows to be controlled before release into the atmosphere. Two complementary approaches can be used to assess the situation:
the solvent plan, which is based on a well-defined methodology, making it possible to carry out an overall assessment of VOCs in an installation or on an industrial site;
qualification and quantification of a canalised emission with a view to possible treatment in line with current regulations.
