2. Realization
2.1 Continuous drainage trench
The method used depends on the depth of the aquifer to be intercepted.
If the depth is less than 10 meters, one method is to excavate a "dry" trench with a backhoe and fill it with filter material. However, this method reaches its operating limits depending on :
the stability of the trench walls, which may require the excavation to be lined;
the size of the flows to be pumped.
