3. Selecting risk analysis techniques

In general, risk analysis techniques must meet the following requirements:

  • they must be appropriate and tailored to the organization or situation in question;

  • The results must be presented in a clear and comprehensive manner, highlighting the nature of the risks and how they should be addressed.

  • they must be traceable, iterative, and verifiable.

The choice of methods must be justified. The analysis results must remain consistent with each other.

Once the various analysis techniques have been identified, they must be selected based on the following factors:

  • the objectives of the analysis;

  • the need for accuracy necessary for decision-making;

  • the nature and type of risk analyzed;
