2. Environmental footprint methodology
The approach used is based on both social and economic data, and on input-output analysis. Input-output analysis is an economic model based on input-output tables (national accounts tables defined by INSEE). These economic input-output tables represent a set of economic accounts that describe the balance of transactions in goods and services for all branches of the economy. They make it possible to represent national production and to forecast the influence of a change in one sector of activity on the rest of the economy.
This approach integrates national, regional, departmental and local scales. It was developed by NZCEE.
