According to an ISO 5801 definition, a fan is "a turbomachine which receives mechanical energy and uses it by means of one or more impellers in such a way as to maintain a continuous flow of air or other gas through it, the pressure rise of which does not exceed 30 kPa for a density of 1.2 kg/m
