3. Conjuring up catastrophic fate: a return to Utopia?
The idea hammered home by the media that we are heading for imminent ecological and human collapse, supported by reports from the scientific expert committees of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the French Institute for Biodiversity and circles of economists, suggests that the upsurge and intensity of disasters are bound to increase in the years to come. In this highly anxiety-provoking context, let's try to gain a better understanding of the mechanisms that have led to such disruptions, and sketch out avenues of resilience, i.e. choices that will enable us to better absorb future shocks.
