2. Behavioral requirements

2.1 Performance and safety targets

The dimensioning or verification of critical elements of the structure also requires the specification of behavioral requirements that define a level of performance for the structure in line with the safety objectives and functional requirements defined above.

Then, depending on the criticality of the elements, their function and the nature of the materials used, the behavioral requirements will be translated explicitly either by a stress level not to be exceeded in the case of linear calculation, or by a level of displacement or limit deformations, if the analysis is conducted in plasticity.
