ISO 27001 and ISMS
ISO 27001: Information Security Management Systems

The origins of the standard date back to 2005, when ISO adopted an improved version of the Anglo-Saxon standard BS 7799-2 :2002 "Information Technology – A practical guide to information security management".

The latter takes up and completes the ISO/IEC 17799 (a guide including recommendations for securing corporate information) by integrating the notion of an information security management system (ISMS).
