5. Legislative and regulatory framework
The French provisions applicable to nuclear materials, their installations and transport are governed by legislative texts and regulatory texts (decrees and orders). These texts are mainly to be found in the French Defense Code, or derive from it:
the legislative (articles L. 1333-1 et seq.) and regulatory (articles R. 1333-1 et seq.) parts of the French Defence Code, relating to the protection and control of nuclear materials;
the legislative (articles L. 1332-1 et seq.) and regulatory (articles R. 1332-1 et seq.) parts of the French Defense Code, relating to the protection of vital installations;
