In the previous paragraphs, we assumed that the behavior of the system under study was the same throughout time. In reality, this is often not the case. For example :

• systems that can or cannot be repaired depending on the season;

• periodically tested systems ;

• alternating use of equipment;

• production capacity changes over time ;

• etc.

We'll take a look at a few of these examples to demonstrate the principle and benefits of multi-phase modeling.
