2. Vulnerability analyses of industrial sites using the CCPS method
The method developed by the Center for Chemical Process Safety (CCPS) in the wake of the September 11th 2001 attacks has inspired other methods developed by professional bodies in the USA (API/NPRA, SOCMA) as well as in Europe and France.
2.1 Presentation of American methods
In 2007, the US Department of the Interior (DHS) introduced the US Chemical Facilities Anti Terrorism Standards (CFATS), which identify and regulate high-risk chemical sites to ensure that they put in place safety measures to reduce the risks associated with their products.
