5. Stress prevention
The circular nature of causes and consequences means that there are many different approaches to combating stress. Another reason for the diversity of approaches is that many disciplines and professional fields are involved: medicine, psychology, ergonomics, hygiene, epidemiology, management.
When people first became aware of the importance of stress in the workplace, the first preventive measures implemented focused on strengthening individual abilities to cope with stress. Subsequently, this individual approach, which can be useful in certain cases, was enriched by collective actions concerning the organization and working environment. Prevention must walk on both legs.
