3. Main applications: concentrated CO2 emissions
CO2 capture is envisaged for stationary sources emitting significant quantities of CO2 . This is notably the case for power plants operating on coal or natural gas, iron and steel plants, cement plants, refineries. In addition, a number of industrial facilities emit pure CO2. These are prime targets for the recovery and geological storage of emitted CO2. These include, in particular, ammonia and ethylene oxide production units, as well as certain hydrogen production units.
