6. A few practical tips

Generally speaking, the relevance of the analysis and criteria is left to the auditor's discretion. As auditing itself is not an exact science, assessing the relevance of a methodology is not an easy task.

Nevertheless, there are some common deviations that call into question the fundamentals of the methodology or simply the requirements of the standards.

  • Audit discrepancies

    Some deviations from the "environmental aspects" section of the environmental management system audits:

    • the environmental analysis is not exhaustive or up to date: the integration of new projects, changes in activity, increased production is not always taken into account;

    • impacts are not prioritized using a defined method: no method ;...
