2. Gaseous emissions
Odors are the result of a complex mixture of odorous molecules from a wide spectrum of molecule families. Knowledge of the physico-chemical quality of a gaseous effluent (type of molecule and concentration of odorous compounds) and its flow rate can therefore give an approximate indication of the olfactory character of the emission. It should be noted, however, that it is not possible to link the level of odour (olfactometric measurements) to the level of flow.
