2. Identify the hazardous properties of the chemicals used on your site
These properties are listed on safety data sheets (SDS) drawn up for chemicals used on the site. In particular, these sheets describe :
product composition and characteristics (physical and chemical properties);
the hazards associated with its component(s), processing conditions and storage conditions.
SDSs must be drawn up and regularly updated by the product manufacturer and must be made available to the operator by his supplier.
In addition, products must carry a regulatory label presenting their hazard characteristics. Labeling is the first essential and concise piece of information provided to the user on the hazards of products and the precautions to be taken when using them.
