Agromining
The whole process consisting of growing a plant cover on metal-polluted soil, selected for its ability to extract these metals from the aerial part of the soil, in order to obtain biosourced metals.
Accumulator species
Plant species with high pollutant transfer to aerial parts with a bioconcentration factor (BCF, [aerial part] / [soil]) and translocation factor (TF, [aerial part] / [root system]) greater than 1.
Excluding species
Plant species with low pollutant transfer to aerial parts. Aerial concentrations are close to physiological concentrations or those measured in plants growing on unpolluted soils, while concentrations in the root system may be higher. It has BCFs and FTs for pollutants of less than 1.
