General approach: assessing the health risks of toxic substances
Health risk assessment for emission management, sites and territories

The general approach to health risk assessment, initially described in the "Silver Book" by the American Academy of Sciences , has been translated in France into several reference guides (available at http://www.developpement-durable.gouv.fr ) for use in the prevention of risks related to toxic substances emitted into the environment, in particular :

• an integrated approach to assessing the state of the environment and the health risks associated with chemical substances emitted by classified facilities...
