5. What should we remember?
In the workplace, a chemical substance, depending on its physico-chemical properties, may enter the body via the respiratory tract and the skin, rarely via the digestive tract, before being distributed throughout the body via the bloodstream. This chemical substance undergoes modification (metabolization) by enzymatic action, mainly in the liver, but also in other organs. It can be stored in fats, ensuring a regular concentration in the body. It is eliminated mainly through urine and faeces, but also through the lungs and skin.
