1.1 Tools

Tools for modeling fire began to be established in the second half of the 20th century, first on the basis of analytical equations, then of numerical models, as knowledge of the field and the capacity of computer systems developed. Their development was less precocious than in other fields such as mechanics, since representing fire by means of a computational model is highly complex due to the strong interplay between transport, thermal and chemical phenomena
