4. Detection and measurement
In order to assess inhalation exposure, a representative fraction of the aerosol is sampled in accordance with standard NF EN 481 (see Sampling
[P 220]
). Sampling is followed by quantification and characterization of the particles that make up the aerosol, which is made difficult by the great variability in size, concentration, chemical composition, shape and state of charge of the particles contained in the aerosol.
