6. Identifying risks
It is generally accepted that if nanomaterials are embedded in a solid matrix (nanomaterials), the risk of dissemination is considerably reduced. The risk remains mainly in the event of cutting, cleaning, sanding, etc., of the material, and to date, there is no data to predict the fate of the nanomaterials that make it up as it ages. Similarly, nanomaterials suspended in a liquid matrix (nanofluid) present a lower risk of contamination. The main risk therefore lies in the entire chain of manufacturing and handling nanopowders, be they nanoparticles or "free" nanotubes.
