5. Examples of biopesticides produced by the French company De Sangosse
To illustrate the content of this article on biocontrol, two examples of production, registration and marketing of new biopesticides based on micro-organisms are presented in detail: Novodor® and Escalator®.
5.1 Novodor FC®: Bacillus thuringiensis var tenebrionis
It is an insecticide based on bacterial spores in the form of a concentrated suspension, effective against beetle larvae and, more specifically, Colorado potato beetle and eggplant beetle. It contains protein crystals from Bacillus thuringiensis var tenebrionis Btt, type HB 176-15,000 I.U./g (figure 11).
