Centrifugation and decantation

Two main techniques are used for both separators and decanters.

• Free exit

  The liquid is ejected from the bowl and collected in a collector in the separator housing. The product leaves the machine by gravity, and a pump must be used if the product is to be conveyed.

• Turbine discharge

  A turbine, installed on one or more liquid phases, delivers the treated product under pressure. Discharge pressure can reach 6 to 10 bar.

  The product comes into much less contact with the ambient air than with a free outlet.
