Pediculosis is a parasitosis, linked to a living organism that feeds and reproduces thanks to a host, in this case man, the exclusive host. Pediculosis is unpleasant because of the pruritus it generates. A distinction is made between head lice and body lice. Pediculosis is a contagious but benign parasitosis that affects 10% to 20% of children aged 3 to 11. It is particularly prevalent in children's communities such as schools and nurseries.
