2.1 Greenhouse gases taken into account
ADEME's Bilan Carbone® takes into account emissions of the six greenhouse gases (GHG) covered by the Kyoto Protocol, namely :
carbon dioxide (CO2) ;
methane (CH4) ;
nitrous oxide (or nitrous protoxide, N2O);
hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) ;
perfluorocarbons (PFCs) ;
sulfur hexafluoride (SF6).
However, Bilan Carbone® also takes CFCs (chlorofluorocarbons) into account, even though they are not covered by the Kyoto Protocol.
