Calculation of fluidized bed reactors

Chemical reactions in fluidized beds fall into two distinct groups:

• catalytic reactions ;

• reactions with consumable solids.

Reactions with consumable solids are naturally more complicated to model, since they produce not only a change in the composition of the gas phase, but also modifications in the granulometry of the solid (in some cases) or its density (in others).
