Natural gas captured underground by extraction wells is stabilized on the production field before being transported by pipeline to the liquefaction unit. Condensates are physically extracted in a separator, and water and hydrocarbon dew points are adjusted to prevent condensation and corrosion in the pipeline.
Once transported to the liquefaction site, the natural gas is purified once again, this time to meet sales specifications and liquefaction requirements: all compounds that could solidify during liquefaction must be eliminated to prevent clogging of the cryogenic exchangers.
The purified gas is then liquefied and stored in large cryogenic storage facilities...
