Ultra-high vacuum noble gas purification. Purification system

The purification chamber presented in this article was built entirely at the Centre de recherches pétrographiques et géochimiques in Nancy, France. It was designed to purify and separate all rare gases prior to their analysis by mass spectrometry. Its description will give readers an overview of this type of installation and a better understanding of the philosophy behind noble gas purification and separation techniques, enabling them to draw inspiration from it to develop their own purification chambers in line with their analytical problems (figures 10 and 11 ).
