Iron-based lamellar superconducting materials

From the point of view of possible applications, the interest of SCFs lies in :

• the very high value of the critical field $H_c^2$, which makes them interesting for applications with high magnetic fields, in particular because of the very moderate dependence of the critical current on the magnetic field ;

• their low anisotropy, particularly in comparison with YBa₂Cu₃O_7-x-type high-temperature superconductors, with anisotropy factors of between 1 and 3 for critical current and critical field ;

• a significantly lower sensitivity...
