3. Matrix calculation
Matrix algebra is an area where computer algebra systems can be particularly useful when performing symbolic computations. Indeed, beyond 3 × 3 matrices, it becomes difficult to perform calculations by hand. However, the complexity of these calculations is not very high, which allows computer algebra systems to solve fairly large-scale problems.
We will perform the matrix calculation in Maple using the package called LinearAlgebra. To avoid having to specify the package name every time we use one of its functions, we can load it once and for all using the command `with(LinearAlgebra)`. We will assume this is the case throughout this section.
