Coûts réduits ; reduced costs

Coefficients of off-base variables in the objective function expressed solely as a function of off-base variables.

Dictionary; dictionary

In the simplex method, constraints in standard form are written by expressing base variables in terms of non-base variables. A dictionary consists of these relations and the objective function, also expressed in terms of the off-base variables.

In a linear program in pure canonical form, constraints appear as linear inequalities $A\mathbf{x}\le \mathbf{b}$ .
