1. Approach Euler equations
The first step is to consider the Euler equation approximation, i.e. the flow of a non-viscous fluid. This is a good place to start, and is sufficient for certain applications. Once this part has been mastered, we'll look at the complete Navier-Stokes equations in the next paragraph.
