2. Electrical properties of aerosols
The force exerted by a weak electric field on an aerosol with even a small electrical charge can be considerably stronger than gravity. We have just seen that electric charges can have a major influence on aerosol coagulation. Generally speaking, aerosol behavior is often disrupted if the particles are electrically charged; many devices used to determine aerosol particle size use their electrical properties
